One local business is spreading to other parts of the Las Vegas Valley, despite the ongoing global pandemic, reported 8 News Now.

The family-owned business known as "No. 1 Boba Tea" has been a part of Vegas for over 20 years. Now, they have plans of expanding.

Amy Zhang Warthan started running the original location in Chinatown over 15 years ago.

Zhang Warthan explained that Boba was new to the area when they first opened the business. She said, "At the beginning, not many people actually know boba. So, we had to educate customers and explain what boba is."

In case you don't know, boba is a tea-based drink that is usually mixed with milk or fruit flavor with chewy tapioca pearls in the bottom.

It has taken the business several years of outreach to be able to make the expansion.

Zhang Warthan said, "Soon we hear customers say 'why don't you come to my side of town?'"

She said that is when they decided on expanding.

A new location will open in early March in the northwest valley at Durango and Centennial Parkway.

Amy's stepson, Daniel Warthan, stated, "Because of the customers we've been able to move into other areas of the valley and serve other people, and we've been confident that we know people will come."
