Taylor Swift Defends Herself After 'Sexist' Joke In 'Ginny & Georgia'

Taylor Swift fans have come to their pop idol's defense after the titan was joked about in the Netflix series, Ginny & Georgia.
At time of press, more than 225,000 tweets including the phrase, "Respect Taylor Swift," were trending on Twitter after Swift's mention in the series. In the final episode of the show titled "The Worst Betrayal Since Jordyn and Kylie," the show's main characters argue about relationships before the Swift mention. "What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift," Ginny says in the scene.
While many Swifites were quick to stand up for the chart-topper, one user let one of the pop titan's old interview clips do the talking. "I think frankly that's a very sexist angle to take," the star said at the time of critics who claim she only writes songs about her former flames. "No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says that about Bruno Mars."
Afterward, Swift defended herself on the social media platform, writing, "Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse sh*t as FuNnY. Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you Happy Women’s History Month I guess."

Netflix will profit out of successful women, air their documentaries, promote them as icons for International Women’s Day, & later approve misogynistic comments about them in their shows.
