Drive-in movies are coming back from their winter hibernation.
The Aut-O-Rama Drive-In Theatre in North Ridgeville will reopen this month. On Monday (March 1), the theatre’s Facebook page shared a photo of its sign, reading: “SEE YOU IN A FEW WEEKS,” “HOW DOES MARCH 19TH SOUND?”
As of Wednesday morning (March 3), hundreds of Northeast Ohioans have left comments, thousands reacted and more than 1,000 shared the post, looking ahead to the pandemic-safe attraction making its comeback for the season.
Movie-goers should plan to wear face masks, which are required at the box office, concession stand, restroom and anywhere else that guests can’t keep at least six feet apart, according to Aut-O-Rama.
“Please be patient with us as we learn new and innovative ways to serve you in a safe way,” the theater states on its website, adding that it will adhere to health-department orders and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. “This is new for all of us, and we expect to make changes to our operations as we learn the best way to operate in these special circumstances. Safety of our patrons and staff is our number one priority.”
The Aut-O-Rama is one of two dozen drive-in theaters in the Buckeye state, the Cleveland Scene noted. That puts Ohio behind only New York and Pennsylvania for the most drive-ins in the country.
