Paris Hilton is thankful for the passing of the Utah bill that she testified in support of that protects children from various types of abuse, reported TMZ.
Paris testified last month about the alleged abuse that she endured while attending Provo Canyon School in the 90's when she was a teen.
She said that the passing of Utah's Senate Bill 127 would make most of what she endured back then illegal.
SB127 prohibits certain punishments for children at Utah's youth treatment centers, such as denying food and water, spanking, hitting, or other treatments that are intended to "frighten or humiliate" the child.
The bill would also prohibit strip searches, seclusion, the use of chemical restraints, and gender-based discrimination.

Paris said that when she was at Provo, she dreamed of being able to make a difference like this one day in the future. She said, "The teenage version of me would be so incredibly proud to know I accomplished my goal of protecting youth who are experiencing abuse in the name of treatment. Survivors, this is a big step towards systemic change!"
Paris expressed thanks to Utah's lawmakers for "listening to us survivors, prioritizing this issue, and taking the necessary steps to protect out future generations."
