Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced a new executive order ending occupancy limits at businesses across the state, reported Fox 10 Phoenix.
The executive order is now signaling a new phase of COVID-19 mitigation in the state.
Ducey said in a statement, "Today, I’m issuing an Executive Order that expires occupancy limits on businesses in Arizona, while preserving the distancing and masking mitigation measures that our businesses have successfully implemented in this pandemic."
There will still be requirements for physical distancing and facial coverings.
The announcement comes after over two million Arizona residents across the state have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Seven weeks of declining cases of #COVID19, more 2 million vaccination doses administered - AZ has learned a lot over the past year and our businesses have done an excellent job at responding to this pandemic in a safe and responsible way. 1/5

The executive order will allow spring training and major league sports to continue in Arizona as well.
Ducey stated, "Like the rest of the country, Arizona has made its way out of the winter surge of cases. And we are leading the nation in the vaccination roll out. Our mitigation strategies have been targeted and data driven. Today’s announcement is a measured approach; we are not in the clear yet. We need to continue practicing personal responsibility. Wear a mask. Social distance. Stay home when you’re sick and wash your hands frequently."
Ducey also issued an order on Thursday requiring schools to offer in-person learning beginning on March 15th or after spring break.
