Canyon Diablo is said to be one of Arizona's most haunted small towns, reported Only In Your State.

The town is located on the Navajo Reservation in Coconino County.

Residents originally came to the area to build a bridge over the canyon. After bridge construction was delayed due to the initial measurements being too short, the town became a hot spot for bars, brothels, and casinos for those building the bridge. The bridge was completed in 1890, 10 years after construction was delayed, and the town scattered shortly after.

There is a terrifying cemetery located just outside the town that was created solely for individuals that died violently while in the town. Canyon Diablo didn't have any lawmen, so crime rates and extreme violence were rampant in the small town.

The town was a dangerous place to be. The center street was even named "Hell Street."

It's no wonder people claim the town is haunted.

To get to the town, you'll have to travel on I-40 to exit 230. Head to the old Route 66 stop at Two Guns.

The town was founded back in 1880 and dispersed in the early 20th century. During its short run as a town, it had nearly 2,000 residents.
