After being in Midtown Sacramento for almost two decades, Lucca Restaurant & Bar is up for sale.

The local eatery is on 165 J. St. is going for $995,000.

The Sacramento Business Journal reports that the listing is for the business and not the property.

Terri Gilliland, co-owner of the restaurant, confirmed the business is for sale in a written statement saying the operators "are getting older and this last year was challenging to say the least."

The Mediterranean-influenced restaurant has been temporarily closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"To our dearest patrons, Lucca will be temporarily closed until further notice," reads the homepage on their website. "Thank you so much for your continued support. We miss you. Stay healthy. We'll see you soon."

The Gillilands also run Roxy Restaurant & Bar on Fair Oaks Boulevard. They said they will continue operating that business.

Lucca's listing on Restaurant Realty Company says it has been "one of the most prolific and sought-after places to dine before or after any of many events happening in the city. This Zagat-rated restaurant is a staple part of the Sacramento dining scene and for 18 years has been highly profitable."

When asked if Lucca would shut down if it isn't bought, Gilliland told the Business Journal they haven't made any "hard fast decisions yet on anything like that."
