Nashville plans to vaccinate 10,000 residents in one day during its first mass vaccination drive-thru event later this month, FOX 17 reports. The event will be held in the east lot of Nissan Stadium from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 20. Tennessee Titans cheerleaders, T-Rac, and other Nashville mascots will be there to cheer on the people in line.
Only residents who are currently eligible to get vaccinated in Nashville can attend the event. This means anyone in Phases 1a, 1b, and 1c as well as residents 65 and older can make an appointment. No walkups will be allowed. Registration for the event begins 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 10) at COVID19.Nashville.gov.
"In a single day, Public Health plans on vaccinating 10,000 of our residents to move our city closer to herd immunity and a return to normal life," said Mayor John Cooper. "This effort is only possible with the help of our community partners and, most importantly, Nashvillians who are prioritizing their health by getting vaccinated."

During the event, the only vaccine that will be administered is the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only requires one dose compared to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
According to FOX 17, the city plans to hold additional mass vaccination drive-thru events soon.
"This is our next big step in our fight against the COVID-19 virus," said Dr. Alex Jahangir, Metro's Coronavirus Task Force chair. "To be able to fully vaccinate 10,000 in one day takes coordination with many partners. I'm grateful for the commitment of the Tennessee Unified Command and Dr. Lisa Piercey, all of our state partners including the National Guard, Hands On Nashville volunteers and the Tennessee Titans. I encourage anyone who qualifies to Titan Up, sign up, and get vaccinated."
