Kelsea Ballerini Says She's Been Writing 'So Much' & 'Can't Wait' To Share

It's hard to believe we've now lived through an entire year of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. For the music industry, this has meant live concerts have temporarily ceased to exist. While some artists have been able to release new music this past year—we're looking at you Taylor Swift—there's no denying this has been a strange year for those who both make and listen to music.

On Tuesday (March 10), Kelsea Ballerini took to Instagram to give her fans an update about what she's been up to without all her usual appearances—on talk shows, on stage performing, and at various awards shows—and it sounds like she's got something exciting up her sleeve. The 27-year-old country star shared a cute selfie with a butterfly filter on it to her grid. "Even though I don’t have cute lil frecks, nor butterflies that follow my face around (bummer), the rest of the photo really is how I’ve been feeling," she began her lengthy caption.

"Chasing sunshine and finding things that make me close my eyes and feel joy. recalibrating. taking care of myself. like, my inner self," she continued. "Finding what boundaries I need to set do that, while still finding boundaries to push because I get *bored*. spending time with my innermost circle of magical friends, my floof, and my handsome [Morgan Evans]."

Ballerini also teased that she's been working on new lyrics, saying she's been doing a lot of "writing. soooo much writing." She also went on to tell her fans how much she's missed them during this year without live music. "Most of all, I hope you’re healthy and happy and can’t wait to share more music and memories together hopefully soon. oh, and hugs, I really can’t wait for hugs," she concluded.

Though Ballerini didn't share too many details about all those songs she's writing or what new music memories she plans to create with her fans, this post is definitely enough of a hint that exciting things are coming.
