Texas is open for business and so is Globe Life Field in Arlington.

The Texas Rangers announced on Wednesday that Globe Life Field will operate at 100% capacity on its opening day. This makes the Rangers the first professional sports team in North America since the start of the pandemic to announce that it will fully reopen its stadium.

Up to 40,518 fans will be able to attend the April 5 home opener. Fans will be required to wear masks except when eating and drinking.

The team said it will also have "distanced seating" for all of its April games except the home opener.

The Rangers are working with Major League Baseball to develop additional protocols to keep players safe. Players won't be able to sign autographs, and the team said it will keep the stadium roof open for as many games as possible.

The 2021 MLB season will be the first time the Rangers play in front of fans at Globe Life Field. The field officially opened in 2020 but the Rangers played the entire season in front of an empty stadium.

A limited number of fans were allowed into Globe Life during the National League Championship Series and the 2020 World Series.

Single game tickets for March exhibition games and April home games will go on sale starting March 22.
