An amended public health order issued on Sunday, March 7, has the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) relaxing certain COVID-19 restrictions.

The changes to restrictions include increased capacity and a later last call for restaurants in counties on Level Blue and Level Yellow on the state's COVID-19 dial.

Counties in Level Blue are able to seat 225 people without the distancing space calculator. Previously, Blue counties were only allowed a limit of 175 people. Last call to order alcohol has been extended to 2:00 A.M.

5 Star-certified businesses can also expand capacity limits by 50 people above Level Blue's restrictions.

Level Yellow counties, including Denver, can seat 150 people without using the distancing space calculator.

The more restrictive levels Orange and Red are required to stop serving alcohol at midnight and 10:00 P.M. respectively.

The CDPHE has also altered the COVID-19 dial.

Counties can now have case numbers above the threshold on their dial level without being moved up to a more restrictive level. But case numbers can't exceed the lowest metrics on the next level by over 15%, according to Denver7.

In addition, face mask requirements have been relaxed in certain instances. In school classroom settings where musical instruments are being played, students are allowed to remove their masks.
