Watch Doja Cat Transform Into A Black Widow In 'Streets' Music Video

Doja Cat weaves a nasty web in her darkest music video yet.

This week, the Cali-born singer-songwriter officially released her new single “Streets,” the fan-favorite deep cut that appears on the pop star’s sophomore studio album, 2019’s Hot Pink. Doja continued her streak of creativity by accompanying the track’s release with a tempting, urbanesque visual that depicts the musician as a seductive black widow who preys on an unsuspecting taxi driver (played by actor-model Kofi Siriboe).

The video, which opens to the sounds of Dojo’s song “Freak,” nodding to the fanmade Silhouette Challenge on TikTok, first sees the 25-year-old displayed as a mannequin under dim lighting, which suddenly turns bright red, casting a shadow over Doja’s nearly-nude body as she performs a lap dance. Other scenes show Doja scaling a building in spider-like movements before trapping Kofi in her web.

“Damn papa, you a rare breed, no comparing / And it's motherf—kin' scary / Tryna keep him 'cause I found him / Let a hoe know, I ain't motherf—kin' sharing,” Doja raps, obsessively. “I could take you to the parents, then to Paris / Plan a motherf—kin' wedding / You the type I wanna marry and keep you merry / I'll put the ring on when you ready.”

This weekend will be a monumental one for Doja, who is set to perform at the 2021 Grammy Awards on Sunday (March 14). In addition to giving a live performance, the “Say So” artist is also nominated for three trophies at this year’s show, including Record of the Year and Best New Artist.
