Many Hospitalized In Phoenix After Light Rail Car And Vehicle Collided

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, several people were injured after a vehicle collided with a light rail car in Phoenix, reported Fox 10.
The crash happened as a driver reportedly crossed the tracks and hit a passing light rail car at 11th and Washington Streets.
The fire department explained:
"Crews came on the scene to find several people complaining of minor injuries from the accident and began their assessment and treatment of all patients. Emergency crews quickly de-energized the tracks so they were able to safely operate."
Six adults were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries as a result of the accident.
There is no additional information available at this time about what events led up to the collision.
According to Valley Metro, a bus bridge was deployed to transport riders between the two stations.
Valley Metro wrote on Twitter Sunday:
"Due to an incident on the tracks trains are unable to service stations between 38th St/Washington and Roosevelt/Central Ave. A bus bridge is being deployed to transport riders between these two stations. Trains are experiencing 15-20 minute delays."
