Thomas Rhett's "What's Your Country Song" is definitely one to turn up when it comes on the radio and the singer recently opened up about the song that brings back a flood of memories and good times for him.

In a new audio snippet with his record label, TR revealed "These Boots" from Eric Church's 2006 debut album, Sinners Like Me, is his "country song" and even referred to the country titan as an idol.

“I think if I had to pick my country song, it would probably be something by Eric Church, 'cause I think going through middle school and high school, he was my idol in country music,” he explained. “I just remember listening to ‘These Boots’ over and over and over and over again. I just loved how simple it was, how stripped down it was and the story that it told.”

He continued: “I think we all have been in those places where, whether we’re wearing boots or tennis shoes or whatever it is, you’re like, dang, these things have seen a lot of life and a lot of crazy memories, a lot of sad memories, a lot of the good ones.”

It should come as no surprise that TR chose a Church song. Last November, the singer revealed on The Bobby Bones Show that Church is his “favorite country artist of all time” and that "These Boots" along with Merle Haggard's "Misery and Gin" were his favorite songs of all time.

“I've said it a million times but Eric Church [is my favorite], as far as me growing up and really falling in love with the craft of songwriting and a guy that can just perform the crap out of a show, would be Eric for sure.

"What's Your Country Song" appears on the first of two albums — Country Again: Side A — on Thomas Rhett's upcoming double album.
