A man's chicken sandwich came with a side order of excitement when he helped take down a suspect in Jacksonville, Texas, which is 30 miles south of Tyler.

A Jacksonville police officer was chasing a man accused of stealing a vehicle on Wednesday, March 10. The suspect took off running through a Chick-fil-A drive thru.

It was a bad idea because a quick thinking customer saw the commotion heading his way and opened his truck door at the right moment.

The suspect ran straight into the open door and stumbled into the grill of a car pulling into the drive thru. The cop following the suspect was able to cuff the guy while he was face first on the pavement.

"The suspect was quickly apprehended after the 'HANGRY' (but helpful) citizen reminded the suspect as to why you should never run from the police," the Jacksonville Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

The department didn't identify the suspect or say if he was charged with any crime.

Today, Jacksonville Police Officers attempted to stop a man in a stolen vehicle. The suspect ran through the Chick-Fil-A parking lot. A hungry customer, who was waiting patiently for his chicken sandwich, used his door to stop the suspect.
