Just when you thought Tom Delonge couldn't possibly hype up the new Angels & Airwaves album more than he already has, he compared its yet-to-be-released lead single to Box Car Racer.

Last week, a fan lamented Delonge and Travis Barker's beloved blink-182 side project only releasing one album, tweeting: "Box Car Racer is one of the best albums I've ever listened to, personally. I really wish it had continued. I know Tom DeLonge says that Angels & Airwaves is a continuation of BCR, but none of AvA's albums have the same feel at all. (And I love all of AvA's stuff too)"

The message caught the eyes of Delonge, who responded: "Stay tuned then for this first single from the new @AVABandOfficial album. Very BCR and that’s also why Rich Costey is mixing it, because he mixed the BCR album... As he gave it that feel u are describing."

We're here for it! Our only question is when do we get to hear this song?!

See the exchange below.

Delonge began the month by letting fans know the new album is almost done, while revealing it was three years in the making. As for BCR, Barker and Delonge have mentioned it so much lately that fans are convinced (or at least hoping) a reunion is in the works.
