Keep your masks on, Chicagoans.

You could score a free sandwich if you do.

Manny’s Deli is adding an extra incentive for customers to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.

It comes after staff had to ask seven people to wear their masks correctly in one day.

Hailed as the “best deli in Chicago,” the nearly 80-year-old eatery challenged its customers: “…we’ll give you guys one more chance. If we go 30 days without having to ask anyone to put on or correct their mask we’ll give away free sandwiches for a day,” Manny’s Deli tweeted on Monday (March 15). “Let’s do this.”

The Deli originally issued the challenge on Sunday (March 14). But that didn’t last more than a few hours, according to NBC Chicago.

Manny’s Deli said in a tweet on Tuesday (March 16) that some customers already failed the challenge — but it isn’t over yet:

“We had 5 people who needed their masks corrected today but we’re not throwing in the towel just yet. 30 days Chicago, there are free sandwiches on the line. #mannysmaskchallenge

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported more than 1,200,000 total cases statewide as of Wednesday (March 17), the latest data available. More than 19,000,000 tests have been performed. More than 4,00,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, data show.
