Midland's Jess Carson Delivers Baby

Jess Carson has a lot of talents. As part of the musical trio Midland, Jess delivers high-energy performances, instantaneous harmony, and shreds on the guitar. He writes, he sings, he does it all.

He can also drive at a high rate of speed and deliver a baby in a parked car.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Jess shared the tale of how he went from being a touring musician to roadside baby delivery professional seemingly overnight.

"I quote-unquote, delivered the second one," laughs Jess referring to welcoming his second child into the world with his wife, Camille.

"We had been gone for; I don't know, three weeks or something like that. I was expecting to get a call when we were on the road and have to try to rush back and hopefully get there in time," says Jess. "We had two days off, and we came back, and we got back late at night."

"The next morning, [Camille] woke me up early in the morning and said that her water broke. So, we jumped in the car. I was speeding. We live out in the country, so I am speeding to the hospital," Jess shared.

"The way that Jess described it, he was like, "Guys! I have seen the matrix!" Cameron Duddy of the band interrupts. "He said he's never driven like that in his entire life."

"She couldn't buckle in. So, I had to drive fast, but also just really like…Long story short, the hospital is an hour away, and we got like halfway, and the baby started coming," says Jess. "So, I knew there was this hospital in south Austin, and I whipped in the parking lot, but he came."

"Cody think about this," says Mark Wystrach. "Jess's son's name is PARK-ER CAR-SON, "Parker Carson," and he was born in a parked car and he is the son of Jess. Isn't that crazy."

The wild tale didn't scare Jess off from having more children. On March 27th, 2019, Jess and his wife welcomed their third child, Rosalia Jean Carson, into the world.
