Oklahoma City Realtor Will Read Your Mind To Find The Perfect Home

An Oklahoma City realtor is turning to mind reading to help his clients find their dream homes.

Landon Whitt, CEO of OKCREAL, isn't a psychic. He's uses a electroencephalogram headband designed to track brain waves and an Oculus Quest VR headset to find what home buyers really want.

“The brain electrical activity that we collect and map is just a clue into what the person might be thinking," Whitt told Input Magazine.

Whitt shows his clients different rooms on the virtual reality headset while tracking how their brain lights up on his tablet. Different parts of the brain light up depending on if clients do or don't like what they're being shown.

This isn't a cut and dry science that will immediately tell people which home they should buy. Rather, Whitt thinks it will help people narrow down their choices.

“Rather than scrolling endlessly through Zillow, we’ll be able to pinpoint home features people prefer,” Whitt said.

Neuroscientists interviewed by Input said they're skeptical about how much brain scans should influence a major purchase. Whitt said that he's not interested in making scientific breakthroughs, but rather "the purpose of my work is to create an environment where humans feel comfortable opening up and being vulnerable about what emotions they are feeling during the home tours."
