Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Announces Reopening

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has announced an official reopening date for its rides, reports CBS13.
The theme park plans to reopen for members and season pass holders only on April 1 and 2.
Then the park will open to the general public on April 3.
The reopening comes as California officials announced COVID-19 guidelines would be relaxed to allow larger theme parks to reopen once their respective counties advanced to the less restrictive red tier on the state's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
Like all other theme parks in California, Six Flags has been closed since March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In July 2020, the park reopened with an animal-focused experience, but April will be the first time guests will be on rides in over a year.
Reopening amid the pandemic, of course, requires the park to enforce strict safety guidelines and protocols.
All visitors are required to make reservations prior to visiting the park.
"According to the State of California requirements, only ‘in-state visitors’ may make a purchase and/or reservation at the current time," reads their website.
CBS13 reports contactless infrared imaging will be used to take visitors' temperatures before entering the park. Face masks will also be required for everyone above the age of two.
