Camera Catches Delivery Driver Dropping Pizza - And Delivering It Anyway

People typically use porch cameras for security reasons (or to eagerly await Amazon deliveries).

But in this case, a camera caught a DoorDash delivery driver dropping an entire pizza on the ground — and still delivering it.

Rodney King Jr. explained to Fox 2 Detroit that he and his wife happened to be watching the footage from their doorbell camera and saw it happen.

"When the guy was walking up to our porch, we saw that he was holding the pizza vertically, so from there I knew for a fact that the pizza was outside of the box," King told Fox 2 Detroit. He added, “so afterward, he looked at the pizza and went to scoop it up, put back in the box and make it look as pretty as he could…and walked off."

"As soon as I saw the pizza hit the floor, my heart sank a little bit," he continued when speaking to the station. "I was hungry but I was really hoping that he would do the right thing." 

King complained to DoorDash after the driver failed to confess his mistake. He added that it was the driver’s fault, not DoorDash’s, so he would still continue to order from the delivery service.

DoorDash issued a statement to Fox 2 Detroit:

"This inappropriate and unacceptable behavior is never tolerated on the DoorDash platform. The dasher involved was immediately deactivated, and we have been in touch with the customer and fully refunded the order. We sincerely regret that this incident fell short of the experience we strive to provide every day."
