Dustin Lynch tapped MacKenzie Porter to remix an old favorite.

The country crooner revisited his 2020 record “Thinking ‘Bout You” by reissuing a new version of the song on Friday (March 19) featuring Porter as his collaborator. Even on the same ole’ groove, Lynch and Porter make the track completely their own with captivating harmonies that make their duet even sweeter.

Together, the pair sing: “I was just thinking ‘bout that weekend out on Cumberland Lake / And that one time in Baton Rouge when we made out in the rain / Where we went chasing falling stars on a hill at your at daddy’s farm / Don’t be sorry for calling me up right outta the blue / I was just thinking ‘bout you / Oh oh I was just thinking ‘bout you.”

As fans know, Lynch originally released the song with country darling Lauren Alaina for his 2020 album Tullahoma.

During a recent appearance on The Bobby Bones Show, Lynch explained how Porter came to appear on the new rendition of the tune. Due to scheduling conflicts to release the version of the song featuring Alaina, Lynch said he decided to hold “blind auditions” in search of a new collaborator.

After his team assembled the submissions for the remix, Lynch admitted that there was one version of the track he’d kept returning to over and over again, which happened to be Porter's. (Watch the duo perform their duet live here.)
