One of the animals at the Humane Society of Marathon County has gone viral.

It’s a goat.

Wausau Mayor Katie Rosenberg tweeted a photo and a video of the homeless goat on Thursday (March 18).

“The @WausauPD picked up a stray goat today so of course Police Chief @BenBliven sent a picture of it to me,” she said. “Wausau, if you lost an adorable goat, it's at the Marathon County Humane Society…Better go pick it up before I do.”
“Apparently the PD has a place to put the stray goat up for a bit. I stopped by to officially welcome it to Wausau.”

Unfortunately, the tweets haven’t caught the attention of the goat’s owner.

But others have had fun with it:

  • “Awww…he’s just a kid!”
  • “Goats are the best!”
  • “Looks like a good boy.”

Similarly, the Humane Society of Marathon County shared a photo of the goat. As of Friday (March 19), the Facebook post has garnered more than 570 likes, more than 300 comments and more than 2,000 shares.

But still, no owner.

The Wausau Police Department is currently holding the goat, according to the humane society.

The goat has been lost since at least Thursday around noon, when a technician at the Wausau Animal Hospital managed to catch him after her was spotted wandering the city. Manager Jeff Goerr said the hospital typically never sees goats, according to WKOW. The owner of the goat should contact the local police or humane society.

Found by Wausau Animal Hospital- being held by Wausau PD. Please share!
