Spanish Hospital Administers Some Of The Country's First Covid-19 Vaccination Shots

A lot more Arizona residents will soon be be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, reported AZ Family.

Governor Doug Ducey wrote on Twitter on Monday that Arizona residents 16 and older will soon be able to receive the vaccine starting on Wednesday, March 24th at 8 a.m.

The vaccines will be distributed for Arizona's state-operated sites in Maricopa, Pima, and Yuma counties.

Gov. Ducey stated:

"Our goal has been and remains to get vaccine into the community as quickly, widely and equitably as possible. Given a thorough review of vaccination data, anticipated vaccine supply, and current demand among prioritized groups, now is the time to take this critical next step."

So far, there have been 2,904,159 doses of the vaccine given out to over 1,830,000 residents. 1,136,413 people in Arizona have been fully vaccinated.

Dr. Cara Christ, director of Arizona Department of Health Services, stated, "We anticipate more and more vaccine reaching Arizona heading into April, making it possible now to expand prioritization. We have been flexible and nimble throughout, while expanding the availability of state sites to vaccinate large numbers of people rapidly."
