A new mass COVID-19 vaccination site opened in Colorado on Monday, March 22.

Centura Health will operate the new site at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City. They will administer hundreds of doses four days a week.

It will operate from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday through Wednesday by appointment only.

For its first day, the site plans to administer 500 first doses of the Moderna vaccine and 1,750 doses each day on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to 9NEWS.

The site is affiliated with a partnership between health providers and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the office of Governor Jared Polis.

It's also one of the three vaccination sites operated by Centura Health through Coloraod's Vaccines for All program. The other two sites are at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs and the Colorado State Fairgrounds in Pueblo.

The Colorado Springs site opened on Wednesday, March 17, along with a site at the Grand Junction Convention Center in Mesa County.

Colorado is aiming to open six mass vaccination sites around the state.

The news of more vaccination sites coincides with the state entering Phase 1B.4 on Friday, March 19, which includes people 50 and older and frontline workers in several fields.
