Jack Black, Andrew W.K. And More To Be Featured In Book Honoring Lil BUB

There were internet animal stars, and then there was Lil BUB. Everybody's favorite feline had a way of bringing joy to the darkest of times, so what better way than to honor her with a 376-page coffee table book filled with never-before-seen photos, artwork, and other memorabilia, and a 7" vinyl featuring her compositions.

Lil BUB: The Earth Years features a foreword by Steve Albini (Shellac), an introduction by Jackson Galaxy and an epilogue by BUB's owner Mike Bridavsky, as well as exclusive quotes from Whoopi Goldberg, Jack Black, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Norbert, Hannah Shaw (Kitten Lady), Marnie The Dog, Andrew W.K., El-P (Run The Jewels), Kelley Deal (The Breeders), David Yow (The Jesus Lizard), Aesop Rock, and more.

The commemorative book will be limited to 3,500 copies and comes with a Transmissions From Space 7" record. The deluxe version is signed by Bridavsky and artist Aaron Tanner and includes an additional 80-page book of Lil BUB-inspired artwork titledTransmissions From Earth: Original Art Inspired by Lil BUB, as well as a 2” minted commemorative coin.

“Ever since BUB landed on Earth back in the summer of 2011, she has brought immeasurable positivity, hope, and happiness to millions of people all over our planet. Since the moment I took the first photo of BUB’s remarkable face, I’ve had the dream of making a deluxe coffee table photo book featuring her photographs,” Bridavsky said in a statement. Lil BUB died suddenly at the age of 8 on December 1, 2019.

Lil BUB: The Earth Years is slated for an April 23 release and can be pre-ordered here. Thirty percent of the book’s proceeds will benefit Lil BUB’s Big FUND, a non-profit founded by her family to advocate for animals with special needs.
