Willow Smith was granted a restraining order against a man accused of stalking her.
The singer and talk show host is accusing 38-year-old Walter James Whaley of traveling from Oklahoma to Los Angeles to break into her home last year, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.
A security camera caught Whaley on Christmas day roaming around Smith's property and looking for a way in her house. Security called the police, but Whaley had already left before they arrived.
Police found at the property a bus ticket showing that Whaley traveled to Los Angeles the day before.
Smith said she was terrified by the incident and was worried Whaley “will do whatever possible to make physical contact," according to legal documents.
Even before the attempted break-in, Whaley had been sending Smith messages on social media saying he wanted to marry her and have children together.
Smith hired a private investigator who found out that Whaley is a registered sex offender.
Whaley is now required to stay at least 100 yards away from Smith and stop communicating with her.
Thanks to the public, tips received led to the arrest of Walter James Whaley III this morning. #WantedWednesday #Arrested@thelocalmalibu @malibudailynews @acornnewspaper @TheMalibuTimes @991KBU pic.twitter.com/cNFhyjuaSz
