Tate McRae has had an incredible year after the success of her heartbreak hit single "you broke me first," and in honor of Women's History Month, the rising star is opening up about all of the women who inspire her as part of iHeartRadio's "Leading Ladies" series.

McRae named Zendaya as one of her biggest role models, and explained, "I started watching her when I was like 10, because I was watching Shake It Up. I was obsessed with Disney. And then I literally kept on watching her over the years." She added, "I used to watch all of her interviews and I used to watch all of her shows and her movies and [listen to] her songs. And I think she's just honestly, one of the classiest, most bad-ass people I've ever seen. And it would be my dream to meet her one day."

But one of the other women that Tate looks up to the most his her own mother, because she gives the best advice and is one of her biggest supporters. She said, "She's been my dance teacher and my mom since I was seven. So I've basically grown up with her my entire life and she's been my biggest critic. Like always giving me corrections, always telling me what I can do better, but then again, she will support me forever, and probably is my biggest fan. Probably her best advice she gave me, when I was eight years old, is whatever happens wherever you go, whatever you do in life is just work hard and stay humble and kind."

There is one more "leading lady" that is an inspiration for Tate: Jennifer Lopez. She explained, "If I ever need bad-ass energy for a performance or something, or getting into the studio, I'll sometimes channel J.Lo. She's such a bad-ass and I feel like she's obviously a great inspiration to look up to all around. Like she's a true triple threat — acting, singing, dancing. And I feel like that's the type of woman that I want to be when I grow up, is someone who can touch around in all realms [and] still be fire at everything. She's incredible."
