Sometimes, drivers might notice a loose dog or cat exploring a neighborhood.

But Shamara McCray saw something more unique — a pig.

McCray recalled to Fox 2 that she didn’t quite know what the animal was at first, as she drove home from picking up a bacon cheeseburger from Wendy’s. It finally clicked when she slowed down:

“It was a big pig,” she told Fox 2. “I didn’t know pigs was that big.”

McCray recorded a video of the pig, as he cruised down a Detroit street on Wednesday (March 24), near Harper Woods. Naturally, the unusual sighting gained a lot of attention on social media.

"It's a pig!" McCray can be heard saying in the video. "Its a pig out here! Look!"

Fox 2 and other local outlets reported that Detroit Animal Control was looking into how they can help, as people searched for the rightful owner of the animal (whom, McCray advised, better pick up his pig “before somebody go and cook it”).

Don't worry, though.

The pig is safe and sound.

WXYZ later reported that the pig had been found:

The owner of the pig tells 7 Action News that he's home safe now. He's domesticated and only got out for roughly 10 to 25 minutes and is usually a "good boy."
Pig on the loose in Detroit

Update: The owner of the pig tells 7 Action News that he's home safe now. He's domesticated and only got out for roughly 10 to 25 minutes and is usually a "good boy." _____ Um, if anyone is missing their giant pig it was roaming along Lappin Street in Detroit earlier today. 🐖 Detroit Animal Control is looking to see what they can do to help the animal find its way back home.
