Police Arrested Armed Man At University Of Kentucky Hospital

An armed man was arrested at a Kentucky hospital on Thursday, reported ABC News.
Lexington police received a tip from another police department that the man was in the area.
There was a large police presence was at the University of Kentucky's Chandler Hospital emergency room, and officials were ordering all students and visitors off the premises.
A campus alert was sent out around 11 a.m. that told everyone to avoid the area, but other parts of campus were operating normally.
Joe Monroe, University of Kentucky Police Chief, said that the armed man, Bryan Carroll, was arrested without incident once he exited the hospital.
According to Monroe, he was at the hospital visiting a family member and was carrying firearms.
Monroe said that the man was also wearing body armor, and police found possible explosives in his vehicle.
44-year-old Carroll has been charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, use of a weapon of mass destruction, and resisting arrest along with a host of other charges. According to Monroe, the man could be facing federal charges.
Officials gave the all-clear at around 3 p.m.
