The community is rallying behind the iconic Colorado restaurant Casa Bonita after they filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on April 6.

“Their website went down last July. We got kind of scared,” Andrew Novick, who calls himself Casa Bonita's number one fan, told FOX31.

The restaurant has been closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, Novick says a group of die-hard Casa Bonita fans have started a GoFundMe campaign in attempt to reopen the Lakewood restaurant.

“If we had it our way we would raise enough money and interest to raise capital to buy it from the existing owner,” another Casa Bonita fan Rick Griffith told FOX31.

The group also has a website with Casa Bonita merchandise and other information about their efforts to save the restaurant.

When supporters donate to the GoFundMe page, they will receive Casa Bonita memorabilia based on how much money they send to the campaign. A $25 donation can get you a Save Casa Bonita sticker, a $50 donation a Save Casa Bonita enamel pin, and $100 a Save Casa Bonita t-shirt.

Those who donate at least $250 can receive a limited edition poster, of which only 250 are available.

“Our goal is to reach out to as many people as possible and have money to have a seat at the table and if there is anything we need to do, we will be ready,” said Novick.
