Weld County police are searching for a newborn horse that was stolen from a farm, reports FOX31.

The owner of the horse, Chad Vallad, says the baby gypsy colt was stolen at some point between Tuesday night (April 20) into Wednesday, April 21.

The colt was just 4 days old when it was stolen from the farm outside of Fort Lupton.

"He has very distinct markings and is only days old," said Vallad in a Facebook post. "He was with his mama and fine last night around 10:30 P.M."

The colt was stolen from a property in the 13600 block of Weld County Road 18 1/2.

Vallad filed the report with the Weld County Sheriff's Depart and the Colorado Department of Agriculture brand inspector.

The stolen colt is estimated to be worth $12,000, according to Weld County Sheriff's Office.

"The Weld County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help with information about a days old Gypsy colt that was stolen from a farm outside of Fort Lupton," writes the sheriff's office in a statement. "Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Chris Cantin at (970) 400-4182."
