Dan + Shay Have A Special Message For The Class Of 2021

To say that the Class of 2021 is in for a unique graduation season would be an understatement.

As we ready ourselves to tip our cap to another graduating class, Dan + Shay leaves us "Speechless," with their words of wisdom for the seniors graduating this season.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Dan Smyers says, "be patient."

"I think a lot of people graduating, or even people struggling with where they are in their life after this crazy year, are wondering, "What do I do? Do I get a job? Do I go to grad school?" Just be patient," says Dan.

Patience is key to accomplishing any goals.

"Stay on the course. Things will fall into place for you," says the "Glad You Exist" singer. "For us to get things going in music, we always knew that we wanted to do this, but it took us a long time to get here."

"When we hit the scene, it happened pretty fast," Dan continues. "But, years and years of touring around in cars and playing in bars where you are playing for a bartender or bouncer, it takes you a while. If you stick with it and are persistent enough, whether it's music or its accounting, it doesn't matter. Just be patient with yourself. Have a little bit of grace. It's been a tough year. Keep a positive attitude."

Many schools will be holding virtual, makeshift, heavily scaled-down graduation ceremonies in place of elaborate in-person celebrations. While the celebrations might seem watered down, this is a huge accomplishment to be proud of!
