Police in New Hampshire have issued an arrest warrant for Marilyn Manson in connection to a 2019 incident in which the rocker allegedly spat on a videographer during a concert.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, is facing two counts of misdemeanor simple assault stemming from the incident, which is said to have taken place during a performance from his 'Hell Never Dies' tour on August 19, 2019, at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion.
The Gilford Police Department issued a statement on the matter on Tuesday.
“Mr. Warner, his Agent and legal counsel have been aware of the warrant for some time and no effort has been made by him to return to New Hampshire to answer the pending charges. Mr. Warner had been performing a concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion on August 18, 2019, when the alleged simple assaults occurred.
"The videographer had been subcontracted by a NH based company to video the concert, and had been located in the stage pit area when the alleged assaults occurred.”
"The alleged assaults are not sexual in nature as has been asked by several other media outlets due to a number of other allegations made against Mr. Warner."
If convicted, Manson could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
Multiple witnesses of the incident, including a venue security guard, told People that they remember seeing Manson repeatedly spit and blow his snot at the camera woman during the performance. When she finally stormed off, witnesses say Manson just laughed.
Manson's attorney, Howard King, released a statement in response to the allegations:
“It is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera. This misdemeanor claim was pursued after we received a demand from a venue videographer for more than $35,000 after a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm. After we asked for evidence of any alleged damages, we never received a reply. This whole claim is ludicrous, but we remain committed to cooperating with authorities, as we have done throughout.”
Manson has been accused of sexual abuse by numerous women this year, including his former girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, who claims she was "groomed" and "horrifically abused" by him for years. Another Manson ex-, Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco, is suing the singer and his manager for rape, sexual battery and human trafficking.
In February, Los Angeles County Detectives confirmed they were interviewing some of Manson's alleged victims to determine if the allegations warranted further investigation.
