Syracuse, N.Y. - US Attorney General Merrick Garland is withdrawing approval to seek the death penalty against William Wood who killed two Chili's restaurant employees.

Wood pleaded guilty to the shooting and killing of Stephen Gudknecht and Kristopher Hicks as they were closing the Dewitt restaurant.

He also tried to kill two other workers, but his gun jammed.
