An unexpected guest showed up in the middle of a softball game on Wednesday, June 2, reports CBS4.
A moose ran onto the field during a softball game in Steamboat Springs and a spectator caught the incident on camera.
In the video, the moose runs across home plate, and fans in the stands cheer.
"He just hit home!" says the person recording the video. "Yes, honey! You worked!"
The crowd continues to cheer as the moose crosses the plate and runs back into the hills.
The person who caught the moose on camera is Matthew Gallagher. He said it happened during a local B-league softball game at Howelsen Hill on Wednesday evening.
While this specific interaction went well, Colorado Parks and Wildlife warns that if a moose displays aggressive behavior or begins to charge, you should run and try to get a large object between you like a boulder, a car, or a tree.
Signs of aggression in moose include laid-back ears, licking of the snout, or raised hairs on the neck.
This isn't the first time another species has stolen the show at a ball game in Colorado. Back in April, a stray cat wandered onto the field at a Colorado Rockies game.
The Coors Field cat was seen running across the railing behind home plate and across the field before getting carried away by an employee.
