Jimmy Page Celebrates Anniversary Of Seeing Rage Against The Machine Live

Led Zeppelin guitarist and mastermind Jimmy Page knows a legendary concert when he sees it and, for him, Rage Against the Machine live in Finsbury Park in 2010 was all it was cracked up to be.

The concert was booked as a thank you to RAtM fans in the U.K., who through a successful Facebook campaign the previous fall, vaulted the band's 1991 classic "Killing in the Name" to the No. 1 on the charts, beating out a loathsome record that came from Simon Cowell's popular X Factor television show.

Page reminisced on the unique concert in a Monday social post, captioning a photo by Noel Vasquez with his own recollection of the gig 11 years hence.

"This band generated energy so intense that you could cut it with a chainsaw," Page recalled.

The Rock and Roll icon added that he left the gig "with a renewed respect for the band."

RAtM guitarist Tom Morello (whose 14-year-old self would surely faint to learn of Page's admiration) replied to Page in the comments, recalling the show as an "epic night" and telling the hard rock innovator that his very presence "fueled our rock power!"

Drummer Brad Wilk added that it was the band's "honor" to have Page there with them.

In December, Page proclaimed that he was motivated to put on a "mythical" live show following the pandemic and that he had been playing guitar and writing music intently during COVID-related lockdown.
