Denver Zoo Named One Of The Best Zoos Of 2021

The United States has some of the largest zoos in the world with over 2,400 zoos throughout multiple cities and landscapes.

Recently, USA Today revealed their Readers' Choice 2021 picks for Best Zoos.

A panel of experts teamed up with USA Today's 10Best editors to pick the nominees and the top 10 winners were chosen by popular vote.

Based on the popular vote, these are the top 10 best zoos in North America:

1. Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden - Cincinnati
2. Fort Worth Zoo - Fort Worth
3. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium - Omaha, Neb.
4. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - Colorado Springs
5. Nashville Zoo - Nashville Zoo
6. Brevard Zoo - Melbourne, Fla.
7. Audubon Zoo - New Orleans
8. Saint Louis Zoo - Saint Louis
9. Dallas Zoo - Dallas
10. Denver Zoo - Denver

"Upon entering the Denver Zoo, visitors experience one of its most innovative exhibits, Predator Ridge," the editors wrote about the Denver Zoo. "Here, African wild dogs, lions and spotted hyenas rotate through three exhibits where zookeeper presentations show off the animals’ amazing natural abilities. Equally impressive is the 10-acre Elephant Passage, where 2 miles of trails take guests past Asian elephants, Malayan tapirs and one-horned rhinos in five different habitats."
