Despite grudges, drugs and egos, the members of Mötley Crüe always brought their chops to band practice.

Bassist Nikki Sixx believes the band's chemistry in their jam space is a major part of what has always set them apart for the past 40 years. He elaborated on the special bond between Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee and himself in a recent conversation with Kerrang! Radio.

“I think the camaraderie is a big part of it,” Sixx said. “[Y]ou've got to realize that anybody you knew 40 years ago, you go from being kids to young adults to married, kids, buy houses. … And you just realize we're all experiencing the same really super-cool things.”

He continued, explaining that the rehearsal space is a refuge from everything distracting the band members from their main job, the music — the thing that brought them together in the first place.

"Just all this noise and energy. And then all of a sudden, it's like, ‘Hey, you guys wanna run one?’ And then you run it, and it's, like — bam — magic. It’s there again. ...Whatever happens, not even on stage, it goes back to rehearsal; that moment. … when there's nobody there. There's no press. There's no photographers. There's no management. There's nothing. It's just the same four guys.”

Sixx and the rest of Mötley Crüe are eagerly awaiting next summer, when their long-postponed 'Stadium Tour' reunion with co-headliners Def Leppard will finally get started.

The bands announced in mid-May that the tour would be pushed to 2022 so that all the tickets can be honored and so all the dates can be fulfilled.
