After a tough year, Casa Bonita fans are finally getting some hopeful news.
According to KDVR, the restaurant's latest bankruptcy court filing suggests that it may be close to providing dining services by as early as the end of July.
The document filed on July 15 revealed that repairs to Casa Bonita's boiler system were expected to be finished that same week. The system was damaged throughout 2020 while the restaurant was shut down and repairs were delayed due to supply chain issues due to the pandemic.
The filing reveals that after those repairs have been finished, "Casa Bonita must pass final health and fire inspections to provide menu service."
KDVR reports the restaurant expects to be able to reopen their menu service in late July or early August once the inspections are complete.
Menu service has been shut down since March 2020. In May, Casa Bonita staff started giving free tours of the iconic space during business hours.
When it was announced the restaurant had filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, diehard fans rallied around the business, starting a grassroots campaign to save the restaurant.
In June, the campaign, Save Casa Bonita LLC, took on a portion of the restaurant's debt.
