Everybody loves good food.

It's even better when it’s a local specialty that isn’t recreated quite the same way anywhere else.

You might need to get seafood along the coast, barbecue in the South or anything else in between. Luckily, the Daily Meal highlighted the one food you need to try in every state. The ultimate foodie hub shared its findings earlier this summer. Its team compiled the list by seeking guidance from locals and determining how available it is — or isn’t — outside of its home state, among other criteria.

The Daily Meal notes:

“There are certain dishes across the country that are undeniably iconic, but for this list, we’re showcasing regional specialties that are somehow just not as good outside of their home state — if you’re even able to find them elsewhere.”

So, what stood out in Nebraska?

Runza.

“A runza is essentially a long roll that’s been stuffed with meat, onions, sauerkraut or other fillings before being baked, and this Volga German-inspired sandwich is wildly popular in Nebraska,” the Daily Meal describes a runza.

Read more about the beloved runza — and see which foods stand out in the rest of the U.S. — here.
