Every state has its quirks and specialties, especially when it comes to food. People flock to Illinois for Chicago deep-dish pizza, New York has their own bagels and Texas barbecue is on a whole other level.

Oregon is known for many different ingredients and local specialties, from marionberries and craft beer to hazelnuts and Tillamook cheese. So what's the defining food for the Beaver State?

To find this answer, we looked to Stacker, which mapped out the signature food in each state. According to the website, Oregon's signature food is...

Dungeness crab!

You can find this delicious crab at most seafood restaurants in the state, whether by itself, in a special dish, or whipped up as a nice crab cake. It's also been a major fishery resource since it was first discovered on the Oregon coast in 1889, according to Oregon State University.

This is what Stacker had to say about the delectable crustacean:

"Oregon’s signature Dungeness crab is harvested along hundreds of miles of the state’s rugged Pacific coast. It is one of the meatiest types of crab, with almost 25% meat content, so a 2-pound crab would likely yield 8-ounces of meat. The flavor is delicate and slightly sweet."
