A Tulsa team is suing Little League Baseball after it was kicked out of the Little League World Series.

The team was disqualified while at a regional tournament earlier this month after the team's manager Sam Treat tested positive for COVID-19, News On 6 reported.

Treat immediately got tested again at an emergency room and his results came back negative for COVID-19. The team was still sent home.

“We were just emotionally upset about it, just because we know how much these kids have wanted to be a part of it," Treat told the Tulsa World.

Team parents say the decision to eliminate a team of 13 based on a single test result is unfair.

“How do you react as a 12-year-old to that news, that something outside of your control is keeping you from doing what you love?" said parent Chris Armstrong.

A team from Needville, Texas, also claims it was wrongly disqualified from the World Series due to a bad test result. Now the two teams are suing the league in a Pennsylvania court to get back in the tournament.

The tests with the positive results were administered by Little League Baseball, but the lawsuit claims that those tests were improperly administered and unreliable. The suit also claims that Little League didn't follow masking and social distancing guidelines at tournaments leading up to the World Series, PennLive reported.

Little League Baseball put out a statement saying that it disagree with the lawsuit and that "it will vigorously defend itself."
