Sudoku Creator Dies At Age 69

Maki Kaji, creator of the Sudoku puzzle, has died at the age of 69.
- Kaji first invented the numbers puzzle all the way back in the 1980's, but his creation didn't take off in popularity until the mid-2000's, becoming a staple of newspapers and puzzle books.
- Kaji ran his own puzzle company, Nikoli Co. He died last week at his home in the Tokyo suburb of Mitaka.
