An unclaimed $500,000 winning Powerball ticket in Massachusetts is set to expire this week.

The Massachusetts Lottery announced a winning ticket from the August 19, 2020 drawing will expire after Thursday, exactly one year after the initial drawing, in a news release shared on its official website Tuesday (August 17).

The winning ticket was purchased at South Dennis Mobil at 452 Route 134 in South Dennis.

The ticket matched four of the five numbers in the drawing -- 13-23-47-55-58 -- and the Powerball of 23.

Additionally, the ticket included the Power Play option and the Power Play multiplier, which was 10x and multiplied the initial winnings of $50,000 10 times for a total value of $500,000.

Powerball prize winners have exactly one year to claim their winnings after the initial drawing. Lottery prizes that expire will be distributed to all 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts.

Lottery winners can claim all prizes exceeding $100,000 at Lottery headquarters located at 150 Mount Vernon Street in Dorchester.

The Powerball jackpot will be worth $274 million, with a cash option of $197.7 million, on Wednesday (August 18).

Tonight's lottery numbers will be announced at 11:00 p.m. and sales cut-off times will vary by before drawings in different jurisdictions.

Live results from Wednesday's Powerball game will be listed below shortly after the drawing takes place here.
