A Sacramento man recently received some well-earned attention from local media for honing his craft for nearly five decades.

Scott McDonald, now 60, started skateboarding when he was 15-year-old and never stopped.

In his forty-five years of shredding at the skate park, he's never broken a bone. His signature trick is called an invert which is a "skateboarding ramp trick that gives you the thrill of being upside down without actually leaving the ground," according to MasterClass.

McDonald now skates with his 15-year-old son, which he says has been a fun way for them to carve out father, son time.

When asked if he'll still be skating into his 70s and 80s, McDonald said he has no plans of slowing down.

"I'm kind of wondering if the old folks home has a skating club I might want to join," said McDonald.

For anyone taking up skateboarding for the first time, McDonald urges them to wear wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, and a helmet.

"It's not a matter of if you will fall, but when," he said.

"Skating, you can cruise around and relax and at the same time it's intense, it's a weird balance," he said. "But it's fun."
