BTS' 'Map of the Soul Tour' will not go on as scheduled.

Their label, Big Hit Music, released a statement via fan platform Weverse about the trek, which was originally announced in January 2020 and scheduled to kick off in April 2020. "Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS 'Map of the Soul Tour,' knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour," the statement read. "However, due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned. Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the BTS 'Map of The Soul Tour.'"

Prior to this announcement, the group had released multiple singles, including their first all-English single, "Dynamite," and performed pay-per-view-concerts, to keep the BTS ARMY at bay, but it appears the collective have simply pivoted their efforts elsewhere. The massive world tour was set to see the band perform 38 shows across Asia, North America and Europe. Ticketholders are expected to receive an e-mail regarding refunds for their shows.
