It's not brutal out here anymore. On Monday (August 23), Olivia Rodrigo finally dropped the music video for 'Brutal,' the latest single off her hit debut album Sour. The video sees the 18-year-old singer put her "teen angst" on full display with help from director Petra Collins, who also helmed Rodrigo's 'Good 4 U' music video.

"brutal music video is out now! had the best time ever making this," Rodrigo wrote on Instagram. "So so so grateful for [Petra Collins] who constantly inspires me and who directed this video so incredibly. hope u guys love the vid and all my teen angst lol."

Fans have long suspected Rodrigo was getting ready to drop the 'Brutal' video. Over the past few weeks, the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star had been dropping subtle hints about her next project, including posting a photo of a skateboard with the word "Brutal" painted on it. The caption simply included the side-eye emoji.

Collins and Rodrigo also both shared TikTok's recently which revealed some of the unique looks from the video. Though they didn't announce they were working together again, many fans took these videos as confirmation that they were teaming up for the 'Brutal' video.

Rodrigo will be performing at this year’s Daytime Stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this September. Fans can tune in to watch the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival via an exclusive livestream on The CW App and CWTV.com. The festival will also be broadcast live on iHeartMedia radio stations throughout the country across more than 150 markets.
