Lil Nas X has a new gig at Taco Bell. The 'Montero' performer has been appointed Chief Impact Officer for the popular fast-casual restaurant chain.
So, what does it mean to be a Chief Impact Officer? Turns out, the role was created specifically for Nas. Taco Bell describes the position as "a newly created honorary role" that will allow Nas to "collaborate on the brand experience from the inside out." In the 'Old Town Road' artist's first 60 days, Lil Nas X will help launch Taco Bell’s newest menu innovations, including making a cameo in Taco Bell’s breakfast campaign.
This experience is even more special for Nas as he worked as a part-time employee at Taco Bell back in 2017. He shared the news on his Instagram Story, writing "I officially work at Taco Bell again."
“Lil Nas X knows the job, the experience, and the culture Taco Bell creates for its fans - including its people,” said Mark King, CEO of Taco Bell, in a press release. “This unique partnership will deliver on more than just marketing, allowing us to tap into the genius of Lil Nas X to inspire our team members and align with our commitment to unlocking opportunities for young people.”
“Lil Nas X is one of the most important voices of this generation,” Jennifer Frommer, SVP Brand Partnerships & Commercial Sync at Columbia Records, added. “His expertise in understanding social media and youth culture alongside his skills in creating great music makes this partnership with Taco Bell exciting, brave and one of the most innovative campaigns I’ve had the pleasure of creating.”
Lil Nas X will also support the Taco Bell Foundation’s mission and help announce awards to recipients of the Live Más scholarship to enable them to pursue their own creative passions just as he did.
