If you've every gotten attached to a car you've had for a long time, you might feel a bit sad when it comes time to sell it for something new. Maybe you think back on all the good times you have had, any road trips or sentimental memories that are forever associated with the car, or perhaps you will take it out for one last spin. That's exactly what one man in North Carolina did earlier this week, however, it didn't quite go as planned.

Spencer Everette, of Greenville, had plans to sell is high-performance 2020 Corvette Stingray sports car on Tuesday (August 24) and wanted to take it out for his "last hurrah" on Monday afternoon, WITN reports. When he pulled onto Highway 11 in Pitt County, he "gunned it" and ended up losing control before running off the road and into a ditch. Fortunately, he wasn't hurt.

Rescue crews arrived on the scene at Highway 11 and Staton Mill Road shortly before 2 p.m., finding the sports car on its side in the ditch. A tow truck was able to pull the car out and flipped to the right side.

According to the news outlet, the North Carolina Highway Patrol is charging Everette with reckless driving.
